Jorge Portugal is the Head-Director of COTEC Portugal – the Business Association for Innovation, the leading business network for technological innovation in Portugal. His professional experience spans the ICT, Banking, and Retail sectors. He has served as an advisor to the President of Portugal and the Government of Portugal, among other national and international institutions.

Jorge Portugal began his professional career at Instituto Superior Técnico as a lecturer and researcher. For over two decades, he has been teaching seminars, postgraduate courses, and executive training in management and innovation, both in Portugal and abroad.

He holds a bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, specializing in the physical-mathematical modeling of contaminant dispersion in geophysical flows. He also completed an MBA at NOVASBE and participated in the Leadership Program in Cybersecurity at the invitation of the United States Department of State.
